If anyone had told me I'd be a writer someday, I'd have thought they were crazy. When I was a child, I hated to read. School book reports were a nightmare. I'm not sure exactly when I changed. Perhaps having children of my own and reading to them was the beginning. Or maybe reading great Newbery books with my students helped me discover the wonder of books. The when and where aren't important. Now, I read constantly. I also write fiction and nonfiction for children of all ages and try to add humor to my stories, even though they sometimes deal with serious subjects.

Now for a little about my books.

God Bless.

CAVES, CANNONS, AND CRINOLINES, my historical fiction novel for teens, now has the most gorgeous cover.
Here it is. Caves has been moved to 2008. Watch for it in trade paperback.

My sons have asked me what crinolines are. "Read the book," I told them.
